Hello 2021 Planners, Goodbye 2020!
Everyone that knows me knows that I’m a planner.
I plan parties, I plan my day, I plan my meals, I plan my vacations, and I plan my exercise (most of the time…) Now I’m planning for 2021!
Last week, I purchased 9, no wait, 10 different planners on Amazon Prime* to review for you! In just 2 days, I had them all, waiting for me to crack them open and peak inside.
This list is organized from smallest to largest for the regular planner books, and then I also feature 2 planner notepads at the end. They range in 12-18 month planners, and some are even undated. I picked out a variety of planners with different sizes, styles, prices, features, and planning pages. Then I flipped through them page by page to understand which ones stood out among the rest.
For each planner I reviewed, you can find gorgeous pictures of the main page formats, prices**, sizes, styles, dates, pros, cons and bonus features below the pictures! (Or skip to the bottom to find out the winners!)

I have a special place in my heart for Moleskine notebooks. Their minimalist and beautiful designs always catch my eye at the store, and I love the bright Bougainvillea Pink leather this planner comes in. (I also should mention that their paper has a great texture, allowing for the pages to turn easily.)
With the weekly planner on the left side, and an open, lined page on the right, this planner allows you to use your creativity and provides you a blank slate for notes, ideas, brainstorming, and reminders. This is a weekly 18 month planner with a compact design compared to the other contenders, and why it’s a front runner in this competition!
Size: 5 x 8.25”
Style: Hardcover, Case (Book) Bound, Weekly
Dates: 18 months (July 2020-December 2021)
Pros: This planner comes in 7 beautiful colors and includes pages for the world traveler like a Time Zones sheet, Global Holidays List, and Travel Planning sheet. The cover is solid and I ordered this one with ruled pages.
Cons: Its compact nature means there is slightly less space to doodle around.
Bonus: Elastic Band, Bookmark Ribbon, Back Expandable Pocket, 3 pages of stickers!
This Do It All Weekly Spiral Planner has a beautiful watercolor floral cover and silver spiral binding. It also has a very unique format, good for people are always busy with something that they need to jot down. There are goal planning, holiday lists, and monthly calendars at the beginning, and then continuous weekly pages after.
The pages turn easily with curved corners and the front cover page has a little, but spacious hidden pocket on the inside. Overall, the design is gorgeous and aesthetically one of my favorites from when I first saw it online.
Size: 6 x 8”
Style: Softcover, Spiral Bound, Weekly
Dates: 17 months (August 2020-December 2021)
Pros: Each week you start off with an inspirational quote and a full 2-page view of Monday-Sunday. There is plenty of space to write down any notes you need for each day and a lot of blank space, allowing for you to creatively jot down important reminders. In the back, there are pages for Goals in the 2022, Budget Tracking worksheets, Contacts, and Notes pages.
Cons: The continuous weekly organization doesn’t allow for you to take a step back to view the bigger picture of a month, (although these pages are at the front of the planner.)
Bonus: Elastic Band, Front Pocket, Tear-Out Shopping List & To Do Cards, 2 Pages of colorful stickers!
Oops – I didn’t mean to pick out an Undated Planner, but it was just too pretty to not review!
How cute is this Lilly Pulitzer To-Do Planner? I love the pink and metallic gold floral accents all over the cover, and something about a gold elastic band just makes this feel extra special. Open it up and freely plan out your days. Because this is undated, you have the creative ability to plan as you please. This planner is perfect for people that need day-by-day organization.
Size: 6.5 x 8.5”
Style: Hardcover, Spiral Bound, Daily To-Do
Dates: 200 pages of Undated Planner Sheets
Pros: Each page helps you focus on what needs to get done for that day. You can begin planning out each day of the next month, the next week, or just for the day in front of you! Each page is printed with the beautiful floral pattern with an hourly schedule planner, to-do list, and notes area.
Cons: Because there are only 200 pages of planner sheets, this won’t get you through a whole year, but if you don’t plan out every day anyways, this will at least get you most work-week days.
Bonus: Snap-On Spiral Bookmarker, Gold Elastic Band, 2 Pocket folders, 40 notes Pages
This is an adorable, classic planner. The beautiful periwinkle cover is sprinkled with metallic constellations on this Eccolo Spiral Agenda in Cosmic Gold Stars.
Open it up and get excited about organizing your life with the monthly dividers, colorful pages, and inspirational quotes! Each month, plan your goals, major to-do’s, important dates, and more. Next, open to a monthly calendar overview for a visual guide. And then, of course, there are weekly lined planning pages with checkbox to-do’s, and room for notes at the end of the month.
Size: 7.75 x 8.75”
Style: Hardcover, Spiral Bound, Monthly & Weekly
Dates: 18 months (July 2020-December 2021)
Pros: This planner is perfect for organizing all of your days. Stay on schedule and keep up with every important date coming up with this classic design. The monthly dividers add a unique touch to this planner and they are reinforced for durability as you flip through the year! The goal planning page at the start of each month is ideal for those who want to keep on track with their objectives.
Cons: There are not many bonuses in this planner, but the colorful & cute stickers make up for that.
Bonus: Tabbed Dividers, 6 pages of stickers!
Looking for a lot of room to write in your planner? This may be your match. The Fringe Studio Planner is formatted very similarly to the Eccolo planner, but offers considerably more writing space for each day.
This planner also features monthly divider tabs and an “At a Glance” page at the beginning of each month to plan your goals, birthdays, anniversaries, and to-do’s. Flip to a minimalist and spacious monthly calendar overview, followed by lined weekly planning pages. The tabs are a little smaller on this planner than the Eccolo, but are also reinforced for flipping back and forth.
Size: 6.75 x 9.8”
Style: Softcover, Spiral Bound, Monthly & Weekly
Dates: 17 Months (August 2020-December 2021)
Pros: This planner is simplistically beautiful and offers a lot of room for everything you need to remember. Overall, the design is very functional and allows you to plan things visually on the monthly calendar pages and then plan the details on the weekly pages. Again, I also love the goal planning pages at the beginning of each month.
Cons: For such a large planner, I wish the cover was thicker. With that said, I think it will still hold up throughout the year because it’s made of a good quality paperboard. There are also not many bonuses included, making this a simple planner.
Bonus: 2 Pocket folders, Tabbed Dividers
Upon opening this planner, you will find a cute booklet describing how to use this planner. It’s a unique one. The Legend Planner PRO clearly was created to help you achieve your goals and a life you love. It comes in 6 vibrant colors, and I chose this one in Rose Gold. The booklet gives you tips on how to creatively use each page of the first life-planning section, (which includes a place to jot down your dreams, reflections on important events in your life, your vision, mission, goals, and habits.)
In the second section, you find a place to plan out the 12 months ahead. At the bottom of the calendar are places to write down your goals to refocus on and “Things I will do to Make this Month Great.” Following each monthly calendar, there are 2 pages where you can reflect on the past month’s goals, progress, next action steps, and ideas.
Lastly, in the third section, are weekly planning sheets. On the left side of each spread, there is a space to note your Monday-Sunday schedule. On the right side, there are more prompts to keep you on track with your goals like habit trackers, a work to-do list, a personal to-do list, things you want to learn, things you’re excited about, a list of things that made you happy, and a list of things that you will improve in the future.
At the back of the planner, there are open grid pages for doodles and notes alike.
Size: 7 x 10”
Style: Hardcover, Case (Book) Bound, Monthly & Weekly
Dates: 52 Weekly pages of Undated Planner Sheets (enough for one year)
Pros: This planner is for the goal oriented. It’s packed with bonuses to design a productive and purposeful life! With the Legend Planner Pro Quick Start Guide, you can easily learn how to use the goal planning & habit tracking pages that are in the first section. With this planner, you can clearly take notes on your life journey, vision, mission, and goals for the next year while also planning out your weekly schedule and tracking your progress.
Cons: This planner is highly involved. Because it’s undated, but setup like a regular planner, you’ll have just a little extra work to date everything. With that said, this allows you to give your planner an extra personal touch on each page. This planner will also take a little time to learn to use. The first life planning section is definitely unique to this planner, but will definitely help you plan a life of intention and achieve your goals.
Bonus: Legend Planner Pro Quick Start Guide Booklet, Back Expandable Folder, 60-Day Warranty Money-Back Guarantee, 3 Bookmark Ribbons, Elastic Pen Holder, 3 pages of stickers!
With similar intentions to the Legend Planner, this Day Designer takes a much more simplistic approach to helping you achieve your goals on a daily basis. In the first few pages, take time to visualize your future, set goals, design your daily routines, and implement checkpoints for yourself throughout the year.
The matte gold spiral binding is gorgeous. It contrasts the navy blue & white stripe cover design perfectly. Inside, you’ll find pink tabbed dividers for each month’s planning. Inside of each month, find a monthly calendar and enough pages to plan out your schedule (on the half hour), top 3 goals, to-do’s, and notes for each day. For weekends, find a combined page just for Saturdays & Sundays and encouragement to make a list of “Fun Things To-Do.”
In the back, you’ll find a handful of Notes pages and a list of Annual Holidays.
Size: 8 x 10”
Style: Plastic Cover & Laminated Design, Spiral Bound, Monthly & Daily
Dates: 12 months (January 2021-December 2021) + 6 months of calendar pages (only – July 2020-December 2020)
Pros: For all of the super-busy, daily planning folks, this one is perfect for you. There is no doubt that this planner will help you stay on track with your schedule. Its larger size leaves you with ample space to write down any and all things you need to keep track of. Best of all - leave 2020 totally behind with this dedicated 2021 planner!
Cons: Alike some other reviewers, the spiral binding was delivered slightly bent. The pages are also quite thin, and without reinforced divider pages, this planner is slightly less in quality compared to others like it. There are also not many bonuses here, which we miss for this higher-priced planner.
Bonus: Tabbed Dividers
In a regular workweek, I need somewhere to keep track of all of the things I need to do. Working from home, this can be difficult. But with this Oriday Weekly Planner notepad, I can achieve all things!
This adorable organizer pad helps you track your schedule, to-do’s, top 3 priorities/goals, habits, and water consumption each week. The bold navy floral design will brighten up your day. As you’re winding down to the weekend, tear off the last week’s work page and start fresh again!
Size: 7.8 x 10”
Style: Tear-off Notepad
Dates: 52 Undated Weekly Planner Sheets (enough for 1 year)
Pros: This simplistic design will help you keep your eye on the weekly targets ahead of you. I love the water tracking cups to fill in each day as little reminders to keep going! I also love the habit tracker to encourage you in all of your little goals & successes.
Cons: There is no “overview” planning here for the month or year, so you’ll need to find other tools to accomplish long term planning. But again – I think this is great to dedicate to a niche of your life, like work projects and tasks.
Bonus: Water consumption tracking.
“Wow!” is all I can say. This weekly planner pad from Bliss Collections is top quality. The greenery design is printed in bold, vibrant color. Track what you need to do from Monday-Friday and then on the “Weekend.” You will also find a Habit Tracker, Notes section, Water Consumption Trackers, and Workout Trackers to fill in.
Once again, this is a great tool to plan out your work week.
Size: 8.5 x 11”
Style: Tear-off Notepad
Dates: 50 Undated Weekly Planner Sheets (almost a full year)
Pros: This planner pad has a higher quality paper weight and truly vibrant colors. The habit trackers are well-rounded, encouraging you to take time to hydrate and invest time into your fitness. With a simplistic design, you’re left with plenty of room for any notes or tasks you need to write down.
Cons: At an 8.5x11” size, this is quite large for a “notepad.” With that said, there’s a lot of room here for you to jot down reminders on.
Bonus: Water consumption tracking & workout/fitness tracking.
Late Entry Announcement!
I really meant it when I said I didn’t mean to order an undated Lilly Pulitzer Planner. Luckily for us, Amazon Prime delivered this beautiful Kate Spade New York Mega 2020-2021 Planner stand-in to me in just another 2 days!
This is a planner worth all of the money. Now, it's called a Mega planner for a reason - it's kind of big. It’s roughly the same size as the Day Designer at 10x8” and with it’s extra sturdy cover & heavy-duty spiral binding, this is not for the sporadic planner. This is the real-deal for super planners, and it’s stunning! The scallop cover colors are a lot more vibrant in person than the online listing, too.
For each month, there’s bright purple cover with a cheeky Kate-Spade quote on the left. On the right, there’s a monthly overview page for your important Save the Date, Birthdays & Anniversaries, and To-Do notes. This is followed by a full 2 page monthly calendar spread, and that is followed by a standard, but amply spacey, weekly lined planner.
But my favorite part is probably the Celebrations tab at the front with all of the holidays you could ever want to know about with space for your own important monthly reminders.
Size: 10 x 8”
Style: Hardcover, Spiral Bound, Weekly & Monthly
Dates: 17 months (August 2020-December 2021)
Pros: The paper in this planner is probably the highest quality out of all of them, so no bleeding through ink here. And although the purple tabs are not my particular favorite shade of purple, they’re still gorgeous and a Kate Spade quote is always a winner. The stickers are a very high quality metallic gold foil, and don’t forget about the full Notes tab after the Celebrations tab at the front! This planner also comes in two other designs called “Dream Big” and “Pop Floral.”
Cons: This is a HUGE planner and not something you can easily stick in your purse and run off for the day with. Because it’s so high quality, it’s also relatively heavier than the rest. But it IS Kate Spade, and it’s just so pretty…!
Bonus: Tab Dividers, Celebrations Section, Full Notes Tab, 2 pocket folders, Elastic Band, 1 page of Metallic Gold Stickers!
To summarize, here are my rankings for each planner in size, price & quality:
Book Planner Size: (smallest to largest)
Moleskine 18 Month 2020-2021 Weekly Planner – Smallest
Pad Planner Size: (smallest to largest)
Price: (lowest to highest)
Bliss Collections Weekly Planner Pad - $10.15
Moleskine 18 Month 2020-2021 Weekly Planner – Best Deal (Median Price)
Legend Planner PRO in Rose Gold - $29.99
Quality: (highest to lowest)
Bliss Collections Weekly Planner Pad – Highest Quality
And the Winner is...
So, which planner is the winner? Well there are a couple of honorable mentions to start with. Many of these planners surprised me with their unique and beautiful designs. Others had very specific features and bonuses to offer.
Best Goal Planning – Legend Planner PRO in Rose Gold
Best Traditional Planner – Moleskine 18 Month 2020-2021 Weekly Planner
Best Design – Eccolo Spiral Agenda Planner in Cosmic Gold Stars
Best Bonuses – Legend Planner PRO in Rose Gold
Best Budget Friendly – Bliss Collections Weekly Planner Pad
And now – a drumroll for our Top 3 Winners!
3rd Place Overall – Moleskine 18 Month 2020-2021 Weekly Planner
2nd Place Overall – Eccolo Spiral Agenda Planner in Cosmic Gold Stars
1st Place Overall – Legend Planner PRO in Rose Gold
It turns out I’m still a sucker for a beautiful planner with regular book binding. I thought the Moleskine would be love at first sight, but then I found the Eccolo… The Eccolo almost won me over despite its spiral binding because it was so well designed and organized!
In the end though, I was drawn towards the intentionality and goal planning features of the Legend Planner PRO. This one offered the best of both worlds to me. It will take some time to really dive into and get into the habit of completing each week, but hey – we’re still in quarantine and I’ve got nowhere else to be….
Just plenty of time to plan my future!
