Come in! Welcome to At Chelsea's!
You're in the right place.
I've been planning a little something for your visit for a few weeks now. It's been a lot of work, but I'm so excited to show you around!
At Chelsea's is my new home entertainment blog! Here, I'll be sharing delicious recipes, pro tips (+skips!), and inspiration for hostesses, just like yourself.
I decided to start At Chelsea's about a month ago.
We don't need a reminder that COVID isn't going away any time soon and that we've been stuck at the house for the past five months... (bored in the house and we're in the house bored...)
But that all got me thinking.
It's funny... I miss going out to restaurants and meeting friends for a drink, but I also just miss having my friends and family over. Then my mother-in-law asked us to organize a Sunday family get-together. It was so. much. fun! Justin and I planned an Italian feast, the kids played in the pool, and we all got the chance to reconnect with each other.
So that's when it clicked.
Justin and I are home entertainers. We always have been and will always be. We missed the hustle and bustle of planning a party at our house. We missed creating a menu of delicious foods, making all of the recipes come to life, and gathering around a big table with people we love.
We've become experienced hosts over the past few years!
There are things that we've done that we would never do again. There are things we have done that we now make sure we do every time we have people over. There are things we've bought and want to share with you! There are also things we have bought that we don't recommend - and we want to share that with you, too.
We truly love hosting people at our house.
We love cooking, and we love bringing people together.
And now, we want to tell you all about it.
A little about me...
I consider myself an eating professional, (although I'm not sure what the qualifications for that were.) I love eating, I've learned to love cooking, and I'm also a pretty mean baker.
I'll also try almost anything.
My favorite foods and dishes bring a lot of elements together. They don't necessarily have a lot of ingredients, but they're delicious in many different ways. Some of my favorites include Mexican, Thai, and Italian.
My love for home entertainment came from an early age. I used to throw big summer bonfires for me and my friends in Rochester, New York.
While attending college at UNCG, I met my now-husband, Justin. We stayed in Greensboro after graduating, have the best dog in the whole world - Amber, and have lived and worked in the city for over 10 years.
Over the years, I watched stars like Martha Stewart, Ina Garten, and Ree Drummond. Each taught me so much about preparing tasty treats for when friends came over. They also taught me unique things about being a host like how to wraps your presents perfectly, and how to prepare your guestroom for friends to stay the night.
And so, the little home-entertaining star in me was born.
A little about the blog...
My vision is to provide you with the best tips (+skips) for your next party!
I've got a lot to give you, including checklists for planning your get-together, lists of the best products we've bought and used for our own parties, and recipes for a crowd.
Justin is my main editor and contributor that will be chiming in along the way. He is a master menu-planner, a kick-ass cook, an amazing cleaner-upper for staging our house, and overall - the #1 person I want by my side in life - but especially when we're having a party.
Thanks for coming!
Thank you so much for visiting today! I am so glad you came over and we were able to catch up. I'm so excited to get together again soon, so stay in touch!
PS: You may already know all of this "about me" stuff from our other blog, EatingNC. In EatingNC, we featured the best eats from all over North Carolina that we could find. We love that concept so much still, but during this time, wanted to pivot and take a moment to focus on featuring the at-home aspect of our life. Please check us out for restaurant updates in NC!
